About Dan

Hi, I’m Dan Morris - Sheffield born and bred. After studying in Newcastle, I returned to South Yorkshire to be close to my family and friends. It’s also where I launched Just Dan Accounting (JDA), with a clear mission: to make high-level accounting expertise affordable and accessible to businesses of all sizes.

I’m an ACA Chartered Accountant and have spent my career in accounting practice, working with clients across industries from care homes and construction to independent artists. Along the way, I’ve built a reputation for taking on complicated businesses with unclear finances and transforming them into organisations with detailed management reports that enable confident decision-making.

Some highlights of my career so far include:

Building a brand-new team in my previous role, which went on to outperform every other team’s targets.

Leading clients through digitalisation and automation projects, using both accounting software and Excel mastery to save hours of repetitive work every month.

Developing a knack for explaining the complicated in terms clients can actually understand - and even enjoy.

Through JDA, I also provide fractional Finance Director services. That means businesses can access the expertise of a senior finance leader without the cost of a full-time hire.

Why “Just Dan”?

The name Just Dan doesn’t simply mean “only Dan.” For me, Just is about doing justice - to myself, to my profession, and most importantly, to my clients. It means providing a high-quality service, working with integrity, and always striving to get you the best possible result. And as JDA grows, I hope it will also mean doing justice to my future colleagues - building a team that shares the same commitment to clients and standards of excellence.

A bit more about me

I’m an accountant who genuinely loves what he does — being a nerd is pretty much obligatory! When I’m not working with clients, you’ll probably find me gaming on my PS5, enjoying a meal or drink with friends, quoting movies at the wrong time, or planning the next holiday with my partner, Ebony (don’t worry — my laptop always comes with me so I’m never far away when clients need me). For me, it’s not just about numbers. I started JDA because I love what I do and I love where the partnership with my clients can go. My goal is always the same: to become indispensable to the businesses I support.
